Order of Christian Initiation for Children and Adults

For those interested in becoming Catholic, we offer the the Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC) and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), formerly known as RCIC/RCIA.


This process is designed for those who are considering joining the Catholic Church in celebrating the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. The process welcomes those who have never been baptized, are baptized in another Christian tradition, or have been baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and need to receive one or more of the sacraments of initiation.

Children (OCIC)

Classes Start Saturday, Oct. 25

  • Preparation for the sacrament is a one-year commitment.
  • Ages of 15-17 and preparing for any of the following sacraments: Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation.
  • Dates: Oct. 25, 2025 and ends at Easter Vigil on April 4, 2026
  • Times: Saturdays, 9:30-11 a.m.
  • Location: Monsignor Thiele Center located at 1510 N. Claremont Ave.
  • Cost: $175/individual or $250/family

Adults (OCIA)

Classes Start Tuesday, Oct. 28

  • Preparation for the sacrament is a one-year commitment.
  • Age of 17+ and preparing for any of the following sacraments: Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation.
  • Dates: Oct. 28, 2025 and ends at Easter Vigil on April 4, 2026
  • Times: Tuesdays, 7-8:30 p.m.
  • Location: Monsignor Thiele Center located at 1510 N. Claremont Ave.
  • Cost: $175/individual or $250/family
